Task 1-5 : Interpretation of borehole geophysics [GM, ITES]

Objectives :
Invert borehole geophysical logs to extrapolate a continuous alteration profile.

Description of planned work :
Logs provide a continuous in situ recording of the petrophysical properties at decametric to metric scale. Hence, they could provide a continuous alteration profile, after 3 steps of processing :

  1. Correction of geophysical logs from environmental effects. For instance, true resistivity can be inverted from electrical resistivity measurements at different depths of investigation, using the RtEvREst software.
  2. Comparison of petrophysical properties of centimetric cores and geophysical logs at the same depths to estimate the scaling effect from these measurements, at both Nojima and Soultz-sous-Forêt.
  3. Use the inverted geophysical log data to retrieve a continuous alteration profile across the Nojima fault.
