Faster alteration of rocks in active faults ? Insight from experiments and numerical simulations, with application to geothermal energy
PhD topics
The project focuses on the process of maturation of active faults in the upper crust by chemical alteration of their fault walls, and on the feedback between alteration and tectonic activity. This topic is at the center of the AlterAction ANR project (https://anr-alteraction.osug.fr/?lang=en) gathering 20 scientists from four French (…)

Neutron imaging of Nojima cores

While advancing the AlterAction project, we realized neutron imaging would allow to better characterize the alteration in the Nojima samples.
We successfully applied for beamtime on the Next platform at the Institut Laue-Langevin, to make joint X-ray and neutron imaging for 48 h.
Linda made a short video describing this event.
